The remedy recommended by the medical experts is to undergo surgery. Eventually they performed ear surgery on you although it may not be perfectly safe. You could wake up and hear nothing, but then again it could be that the ringing will have not have stopped.

One way to have a personal victory over tinnitus is to simply ignore it. Reality check tells us that our brain is trained to do these things. At present millions of sensations stir each of your senses. Your brain selects which of the senses you will register, otherwise your conscious mind would be overwhelmed with input. Remedies exist which train you to unconsciously take no notice of the ringing. A basic exercise will make it work. Attempt to read the newspaper with paying close attention and perhaps you will see that you do not hear any more ringing. Keep doing that, and soon you will be unconsciously ignoring the tinnitus.
