Does My Breakdown Cover Extend to My Partner?

without comments

Will My Cover Extend to My Partner?

This is an extremely common question with regards to single car breakdown cover but unfortunately the bottom line is; no, it only covers you and you alone. Essentially, this type of policy covers you as a person, and not actually your vehicle. As such, your partner will not be covered, no matter what the circumstances are.

If you feel it’s essential that you and your partner both need to have cover, then I strongly suggest you consider a “joint cover” type policy. However, one should remember that in order to qualify for joint cover, you and your partner must live at the same address.

Making a Decision With Regards to an Ideal Policy

With regards to choosing car breakdown cover, the most important aspect of all is that you choose one which is best suited to your particular circumstances, when you go for single breakdown cover, or whether you opt for joint or family cover. Admittedly, if you’re single or if you’re the only driver in your family, then yes, single breakdown cover is ideal.

However, if you’re not the only driver in your family, then single breakdown cover is simply not going to be sufficient. In other words, before you actually go ahead and purchase a policy, first be sure that you’ve taken your personal requirements into careful consideration.

Car breakdown cover should be compared for better deals, use a good informative website to find the answers you need before you buy any breakdown cover in the UK.

Mexico City - a Heady Mix of Chaos and Beauty

without comments

Endless lines of vehicles wind their way along the broad avenues, filling the air with exhaust. Mexico City appears unconcerned. At first glance, visitors may be overwhelmed by Mexico City’s noise, dirt and chaos, but look again.

Mexico City is the largest metropolis on the American continent and it is still growing. Despite the problems that inevitably accompany unrestrained growth, there are superb architectural treasures hidden behind the rather dull facades of this huge city.

No other Latin American city boasts as many baroque churches, monasteries and colonial palaces. It also has a number of acclaimed modern buildings, some of which are decorated with monumental paintings by the famous Mexican muralists, and world-class museums house still more art and treasure.

The eagle, the snake and the cactus.
In 1325, the Aztecs, who called themselves the Mexica, migrated into what is now central Mexico, where they founded their capital city, Tenochtitlan. They had chosen the site well, with a little help. According to legend, the Aztecs received a vision that told them to wander until they found an eagle perched on a cactus with a snake in its talons.

In the Valley of Mexico at an elevation of more than 2,000 metres they came upon this very scene in a swampy area scattered with lakes and islands. From a strategic standpoint, the location was ideal. They colonized the islands in the middle of a shallow lake, which protected their settlement well. The wandering Mexica had finally settled down.

Later, they built dams and causeways between the islands, which developed into a complex hydraulic system with canals, drawbridges and sluices. Tenochtittan grew in size to cover more than 13 square kilometres. The Aztecs ultimately conquered the entire high valley by force of arms, and soon controlled nearly all of modern-day Mexico, as well as other parts of Central America.

Hernan Cortes and the Fall of the Empire
The precipitous fall of the Aztec Empire began in 1519 when Hernan Cortes landed on the Gulf Coast of Mexico with just a few men. What Cartes achieved is incredible. With a small force, a few horses and indomitable will, not to mention a good dose of brutality and recklessness, he subdued an entire empire. His total command consisted of 500 Spanish soldiers, 16 mounted fighters, 6 cannons and 400 Indian mercenaries. The Aztec population he confronted numbered in the hundreds of thousands.

On 8 November 1519 the Aztecs’ fate was sealed. The Aztec ruler Moctezuma II received Cortes unarmed, possibly because he thought Cortes was the god Quetzalcoatl. This was an invitation to disaster. The Spaniards quickly took Moctezuma hostage and massacred the assembled priests and nobles.

The Aztecs were at first able to push back the interlopers and force them to retreat. Unfortunately, this only postponed their demise by a few years. In 1521, Cortes moved in with fresh troops, completely overwhelming the Aztec forces. The Spanish rulers then built their own city with churches and palaces on the foundations of the old one. Most of the lake was drained, as more and more land was needed. Tenochtitlan disappeared under a Spanish city. Parts of it, such as the Tempio Major, have since been excavated by archaeologists and are on view again after hundreds of years of obscurity.

Online profits Need Not Be Complicated

without comments

One of the simplest and most overlooked aspects of online marketing is that it’s not complicated. Or more to the point,, there are a lot of “experts” who try to make it complicated. Aside from whatever motivation they might have to do that online profits occur from one simple equation –

Traffic + Conversion = Sales

– performed over & over again

There are MANY ways to get traffic (visitors) to your site and cause them to take some action or “convert,” which will either result in more leads or (less frequently) result directly in more sales to your business.

So here’s the other simple rule — you only need to master 1 or 2 traffic methods and 1 or 2 conversion methods, and you will make money. When you drive you only need to know two pedals, and you don’t need to know EVERYTHING about internet marketing in order to add revenue to your business.

With that in mind, there are a few basic traffic techniques I’ve implemented in some of my sites and client sites that have universally and consistently WORKED. Here are a few of those methods — but remember, you only need to pick one or two:

Traffic Generation

1) Twitter is a highly effective means of targeting your niche and developing the conversation with your customers and prospects. In fact, it is second to none. However, most businesses don’t know how to use Twitter effectively. They spam with “sales tweets” — “Look at the cool new thing I’m selling.” The 80/20 rule is highly effective — 80% of your tweets should be about something interesting, funny or otherwise engaging… a question of the day like “What’s for lunch?”… anything to get people talking, laughing, thinking… Also, keep it consistent and be generous with re-tweets. A few tweets a day go a long way toward establishing a rabid list of followers. The wrong thing to do is to Tweet like a madman for a day or two and then disappear for a month. Or worse, don’t reply when someone direct messages you or @messages you. That’s like ignoring someone at a dinner party when they ask you to pass the gravy. You WON’T get any dessert.

2) Video marketing — one of the fastest ways to rank your site and get lots of inbound traffic. Keep your videos consistent — don’t show up one day in a baseball cap and dark lighting, talking about the rain, and another day bouncing in a jungle gym screaming about business leads. Consistent message, consistent tone, consistent look & feel. Also, be sure to put a call to action in your video’s description, as well as the full URL of your website’s landing page, and use appropriate keywords.

3) Article marketing is an evergreen method for outstanding traffic generation, with one HUGE caveat — mix it up! Putting the same article on 400 article directories will get you nowhere fast. You will get a bump in traffic from all the inbound links until Google figures out they’re all the same article and basically count it as one link. There are content spinners out there that alter the content of your articles automatically, but you have to be very careful here as well. Most content spinners change a word or two to replace it with a synonym, or they mash up the article randomly so the output is basically junk that cannot be read. It has to pass human review. So if you’re looking for a quality content spinner, ideally you want to be able to change the entire sentence many times throughout the article, and then have it spin those into hundreds of different articles. That’s the professional way to do it. At the bottom of your article, have a call to action in the information field; a blurb about you (the author) and a link to a free guide the reader can pick up at your website.

Visitors Taking Action

1) Keep it simple. The landing page has to do ONE thing — get people to ACT. For this reason, it’s been called a SINGLE ACTION PAGE. Pear it down to the bare essence of what you need the visitor to do. Consider placing a video on the page with a very simple message, “Hey thanks for stopping by for my free whizbang. Just type in your first name and e-mail address and I will rush it right over to you. In just a moment after you send your information, you’ll get an e-mail with a confirmation link. Click that link and I will instantly send your free whizbang.”

2) Direct, direct, direct. Notice the video script in #1 above — see how we instructed the user on exactly what they need to do? And then we told them what to expect next, and what they would then need to do. And we closed with a reminder of the benefit — the free whizbang.

If you have trademarked the term “whizbang,” then I apologize in advance. ;)

3) Test, test, test. ALWAYS have two versions of your landing page operating at one time. You can optimize your landing page using freely available Google tools in the Web Optimizer toolbox. You really can’t go on “gut” here — the data will be you every single time. Even on PPC ads, we have literally seen the addition of a question mark in the ad increase conversion by 16.8% So test, test, test.

Conclusion

These methods work on any business in any industry. Here is some social proof –

Local landscape designer increased her traffic by 7,342% (yes seven thousand percent)

  • Local artist went from three visitors a day to an average of 41 visitors a day
  •

  • International digital publisher had zero e-commerce and started converting 16% of all traffic to revenue within 72 hours of implementing one traffic strategy and one conversion strategy
  •

  • Changing a landing page to a simple design on an e-book site turned conversion from an anemic two sales per week to eight sales a day — on the same traffic.
  •

I hope this helps your business. The average business fails to do what it takes to drive traffic or achieve conversions to their website. While they exercise 20-30 traffic methods on average, they don’t do a single one effectively.  There are many sources online to learn about effective marketing strategies, including free resources and some almost-free, like the definitive guidebook  750 Ways to Get a Visitor to Click on You.

Do-it-for-you solutions are also available; experience guides the appropriate strategy for the website and market. The biggest challenge business owners face is knowing which strategy to implement. Experimentation can be very costly in terms of time and lost sales… The key is to find a reputable marketing firm that offers a full range of customized services as well as downloadable products and courses to assist every website owner at every budget level.

Low Dose Naltrexone and Why I Care

without comments

My story and why I care.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the fall of 2000, when Texas had nearly a week of 100+ temperatures. I had no idea that it was partly the heat that was so debilitating, but it finally landed me in the emergency room, where I spent an extra day after the IV prednisone treatment because the temperature was still 112 degrees outside.

My neurologist gave me the choice of which ABCR drug to go on, and was pleased when I chose Copaxone as the least destructive to my immune system. I religiously took a Copaxone shot every day for nearly nine years. I swear that I probably did not miss 10 shots in that entire nine years.

Being older at diagnosis (52), I was lucky to not progress rapidly during that time. But the parallysis and debilitation did start to add up. My left leg would collapse totally and even when it was good, there was marked weakness. The fatigue was tangible as only an MS patient would understand, and the heat would lay me flat for days on end.

Worst of all was the mental fog. In my younger days, I had a photographic memory. Now, I have entire years that are missing from my memory bank, when the short term memories did not get stored into the long term vault.

Then in early 2009, the unthinkable happened — along with my job, I lost my employer provided health insurance. There was no way that I could afford the $1,600 per month to continue the Copaxone. Even the $600 per month insurance payments would put us in the poor house.

I had no alternative than to do the research on my own and see if there were something else out there that would make a difference in my life.

I am so GREATFUL that I found low dose naltrexone for multiple sclerosis, the new protocol for using Low Dose Naltrexone to help repair the immune system and put my symptoms into remission.

I cannot adequately express the difference that LDN has made in my life. Now at 61, after being on low dose naltrexone for only a couple of months, I have just returned from a trip to the Colorado Rockies where we took two of our horses and rode for 2 hours a day for over a week. I climbed mountains and breathed the thin, clean air with a renewed joy of life that I feared would never be a part of me again.

My husband is pleased to have his wife of 42 years back by his side and my Mother cried when she saw me on my feet with a grin on my face and a twinkle in my eye, not bent over struggling with each step that I took.

Doing some research on ldn and aids I found that there is much history of its use in curing and calming so many diseases, not because it cures the disease, but because it improves the immune system to help your own body cure your disease.

The first disease that it was used for was naltrexone and aids .

I am still somewhat weak from years of not being able to do the things that I would have liked, but the muscles are coming back almost as quickly as the memory. The mental fog is rapidly lifting, and I can now remember a phone number after dialing it once.

It has not made a big difference in the heat problems, but I will learn to live with that. What it has helped with is no more exhaustion, I sleep like a baby through the night, my cognitive function is vastly improved, my left leg and right arm are no longer nearly useless, but as normal as they were as a youth.

I guess the thrill is just how “normal” I feel, and that pleasure comes from somebody who “never wanted to be normal.” LDN will be a part of my life for ever.

I hope is that the MS Society will spend some of their massive research dollars on this cheap generic drug that has no side effects, that is showing so much promise to so many MS sufferers. I realize that the ABCR drugs and the pharmaceutical companies that manufacture them help support the MSS, but the Society is there to serve us, the MS patients even if it means that the thousands that we all spend on expensive and scary drugs is cut way down by the use of this generic LDN therapy that is cheap, safe and easy to administer either orally or topically with a cream that you just rub in.

I cannot thank my lucky stars enough that I lost my health insurance and found Low Dose Naltrexone. If anybody else wants to try it, there is a Yahoo newsgroup with 6,000+ happy members who are willing to tell their stories too, and help in any way that they can. Always consult your doctor before taking any new medication.

Delving Into Crafty Precious Bedding

without comments

In some parts of the world, a second bed sheet is placed on top of the sheet that covers the mattress. This second sheet is referred to as a “top sheet.” When this top sheet is put in use, the sheet directly on the mattress is referred to as a “bottom sheet.” A sleeper lies between the two sheets. Blankets, comforters, and any additional bed covers are put above the second bed sheet.

What the thread count determines is the comfort of the fabric. A good rule of thumb is that the higher the thread count number, the softer the sheets will be. How many of us at some time or another have slept on scratchy sheets or those that are so thin you can almost see through them. We spend a long time asleep during out lifetime so it’s really important to make our sleeping experience as pleasant as possible. This is what queen sheets are like.

Unfortunately, buying sheets is not quite as easy as it used to be or should be. You may go to a store wanting plain white cotton sheets but end up so confused because you have so many different types of cotton, that you may go home with the wrong one (in most cases) or end up buying something you don’t want. This is what bed in a bag sets are like.

There’s no rocket science involved in washing bed sheets but there is one important tip that you may want to consider so as to keep your bed linen in tip top condition. After the wash cycle is complete, run the sheets through an extra rinse cycle to remove any soap residue since this decreases their softness.

A winter just isn’t complete without warm flannel sheets. Most people exclusively use flannel sheets in the cold months, because they will become “sweaty” in hot ones. In addition, many manufacturers have begun to produce flannel comforters and blankets to match the patterns on the sheets. This is what waterbeds are like. Finally, a silk or satin pair of sheets is considered the ultimate in luxury. They are silky soft and will keep you from sweating in the summer. You can literally slide into bed and if you have a satin or silk pillow case, lay your head in pure luxury. The only downside to satin and silk sheets is that they tend to slide off of the bed if not fitted properly.

Purchasing High Quality and Elegant Home Furniture

without comments

Furnishing your home with quality furniture is very important if you are looking for a fashionable contemporary image. Furniture is an investment that requires meticulous selection as it costs a significant amount of money. From your bedroom furniture, dining room furniture, to the living room furniture, your choice influences your character and lifestyle. Some people go for contemporary furniture while others go for traditional furniture.

For those who can afford it, all types of bedroom furniture, dining room furniture and living room furniture can be bought for your home and are made of high quality materials. Some of the best deals can be found by searching for online furniture retailers as they do not have the high overheads of traditional retail stores. Some online stores sell several kinds of dining furniture, living room furniture and bedroom furniture that are often made from the following materials: pine, oak, beech, dark wood and glass.

Furniture choice is often based on the interior design and theme of the home. For example, for a contemporary look, having a natural wood furniture collection made of oak can be very attractive. Another modern trend that has recently emerged is the popularity of glass furniture which can prove to be a very stylish addition to your home.

Remember to always look for quality furniture and spend as much as you can comfortably afford, as this will make an excellent investment over a long period of time. The temptation to buy cheap furniture should be avoided if possible, as it is likely to be of low quality and will need to be replaced much sooner than higher quality furniture. Quality, elegant and durable furniture is often more affordable than you may think due to the availability of low rate finance products that allow you to spread your purchase over several years in some cases.
